XML Sitemap is build for crawler to easily crawl all web pages. Crawler of web spider does not read sitemap in .htm /.txt/ or other format, it is read Sitemap only in .XML format.

Frist of all we will specify xml version and encoding in xml sitemap code. 

you have to include all pages in the websites in the sitemap like index page,aboutus page , service page.

Frist you have to include main page of the website in xml sitemap code butween <url> and <url> . tags. In this tag, you have to include your main page by location tag <loc> & <loc/>

If you update your contain monthly bases then enter 'monthly' between <changefreq> & <changefreq/> if you update your contain weekly bases then enter weekly instead of monthly. you can change according to your requirement.

Where you will submit Sitemap or Sitemap Submission?.

We can submit XML Sitemap in different-different search engine's webmaster for fast indexing. you can submit Sitemap in Google Webmaster or bing Webmaster Center
