What is Search Engine?.

If you Divide the terms SEO the you will find Search Engine and Optimizations

SEO = Search Engine + Optimization = Search Engine Optimization 

Search Engine is a software system that is designed to Search an information on the World Wide Web like Google, Yahoo, Bing.An Estimated 70% to 80%  user use Google as Search Engine and 20% to 30% internet user use other search engine like ask, wow, info, alhea, mywebsearch.

How Search Engine work?.

You will find three things in the Search Engine like Crawler, Indexer and Ranking Algorithm. 

Crawler -As we know there are lots of website in the internet and daily launches many websites. At first Google Crawler will detect the when new websites launch as Crawler will read the source code and they will store it on their server. Source Code is that code which is build to show on the internet. Crawler will only read that source code whether there can be logic, content that does not matter.

Indexer - After Crawling the website, indexer will be active. Indexer will collect the data from the server where the source code is stored. after that Indexer will divide different catagory into different parts like hotels website will fall hotel catagory, School website will fall under school catagory. In a word indexer will arrange those catagory in a proper way or systematically. After indexing all those data will be stored in the server.

Ranking Algorithm - a user search a query and sent it via browser then user will get results like websites. Who decide the ranking of the websites?. like which website will be shown in the top and which website will be shown in the bottom. this will decided by the Ranking Algorithm. Every Search Engine have their own Algorithm or you can say Every Search Engine have Different Algorithm based on the different guidelines.
